Molchat Doma
Molchat Doma is a Belarusian post-punk / new wave / synth-pop band. Their music blends the legacy of Soviet new wave (in the spirit of Kino) with Western influences such as The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Depeche Mode.
Development Goals
The main objective of the website is to become the band’s primary communication hub with their audience. Here, fans can find information about upcoming concerts and buy tickets, follow new releases, and stay up to date with the band's news.
Stylistically, the website needed to be avant-garde and slightly provocative — reflecting Molchat Doma’s creative atmosphere and aligning with the band’s visual identity.
The design concept draws from brutalism, combined with elements of festival aesthetics and grunge.
The band’s recordings often include white noise reminiscent of the hiss of cassette tapes, evoking the grainy visuals of old television screens. This visual “snow” was incorporated into the site’s design.
Several visual techniques on the website reference constructivism: bold arrows and blocks, heavy typography, and glitch-like animations simulating TV interference.
The band's sound evokes the analog character of old magnetic tape recordings. To visually support this atmosphere, we added a looping animation of sound waves to the site.

The page tells the story of the band and how it has grown, featuring quotes from well-known media about Molchat Doma. The design is based on expressive black-and-white photography, with bold yellow accents woven in.
